Our Story
West Paps Quarry has been part of the Mansfield community since 2002, when Norm Pigdon began supplying the region with what became known locally as “Paps Gravel.”
Used across rural roads, driveways and properties throughout the district, Paps Gravel built a strong local reputation. As the quarry developed through Brendan and Michelle Pigdon’s ownership and management, the business continued to grow, expanding its product range into crushed rock, aggregate, screenings and larger quarry rock.
Over more than two decades, West Paps has evolved through each chapter while keeping the same local, family-run approach at its core.
2026 - A new chapter
In 2026, West Paps passed into the hands of local couple Blair and Rachel following a long-standing relationship between Blair and Brendan.
Blair had always said that if the opportunity to take on the quarry ever came, he would love to carry it forward. With a background in excavation, machinery and plant, the business was a natural fit. For Blair and Rachel, it was also an opportunity to build something together, close to home and within the Mansfield community where they are raising their family.
The original West Paps team has stayed on, bringing with them years of experience and knowledge of the quarry, its products and its customers.
The quarry today
West Paps supplies a broad range of crushed rock, gravel, aggregate, screenings and larger quarry rock for landscaping, road construction, rural properties and commercial applications.
Bulk quantities are available for quarry pickup or delivery, with the focus remaining on dependable supply and making it straightforward for customers to get the material they need.
Built on local relationships
West Paps has long supplied landscape yards, landscapers, road crews, contractors, rural customers and businesses throughout Mansfield and the surrounding region.
Many of those relationships have been built over years of working together. That connection to the people and businesses using West Paps products remains an important part of how the quarry operates today.
Family owned. Locally run.
For Blair and Rachel, taking on West Paps is about more than owning a quarry. It is about continuing a local business with a strong history, looking after the team that has helped build it and keeping it connected to the community.
